Suomen Neonataalihoitajat (SNH) ry
The Finnish Society of Neonatal Nurses was founded in 1992 in Helsinki, Finland. There are members troughout Finland, as well as worldwide.
The goals of the society are to
- Develop Finnish neonatal care by teaching NICU staff. We organize and sponsor national study days around Finland on current topics in neonatal care.
- Increase knowledge about developments in neonatal care educational visits to hospitals worldwide. Many of our members participate in neonatal congresses around the world, and report their findings in our journal.
- Promote networking, becnhmarking and exchanging of ”best” and new neonatal care practices around Finland. In the bi-annual journal, care, NICU and PICU unit features, and nursing focused articles bring members up to date information. Over 400 articles have been published in 15 years.
- Provide financial support. The society grants scholarships for its members to attend congresses and educational events.
The organization’s language for communacion is Finnish.
